Privacy Policy

Time Snatchers ("the Game", "we", "us") is developed by Phillistine Records. This policy explains what information the Game collects, how it's used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect: your real name (unless you choose to use it as your display name), email address, physical address, payment information, or any government-issued identifiers.

2. How We Use AI

Trivia questions in Time Snatchers are generated using Anthropic's Claude AI. When a question is generated, we send the year, category, and difficulty level you've selected to Anthropic's API to generate the clue text. This request does not include your name, your device information, or any other personal data — only the gameplay parameters needed to write the question.

3. Local Play

In Local Play, all game data stays in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not receive, store, or have access to any information from games played in Local Play mode, other than the AI question requests described above.

4. Online Play

In Online Play, your display name and game state are stored on our servers (hosted on Cloudflare) so that other players in your game can see the shared board. This data is automatically deleted 14 days after a game's last activity. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties for advertising purposes.

🔔 Push notifications are entirely optional. If you enable them, your browser creates a push subscription that we use solely to tell you when it's your turn. You can disable notifications at any time through your browser settings, and we provide an in-game option to unsubscribe as well.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

Time Snatchers uses your browser's local storage to remember your display name, saved games, and game preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

6. Children's Privacy

Time Snatchers is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Game does not require an email address, real name, or any other personally identifying information to play.

7. Data Retention

Local Play data remains on your device until you clear your browser data or delete a save slot.
Online Play game data auto-expires 14 days after the game's last activity.
Push notification subscriptions remain active until you unsubscribe or revoke browser permission.

8. Your Choices

You can play entirely offline using Local Play, in which case no data leaves your device except AI question requests.
You can decline push notifications at any time.
You can clear your saved games at any time from within the Game's Save/Load menus.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
